1. Who we are
JTrade Help Technology Inc. ("JTrade Help", "we", "us", or "our") is a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada, with its principal office at 5000 Yonge Street, Suite 1901, North York, Ontario, M2N 7E9. We provide AI-powered international trade intelligence to businesses worldwide.
We are the "controller" of the personal information described in this policy. As an Ontario-based organization operating in Canada and serving customers globally, we comply with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and applicable provincial requirements. Where our services reach residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, we honour applicable rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA respectively.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Account information - name, business email, company name, job title, phone number, and password (stored hashed).
- Billing information - billing address, invoice history, and payment method identifiers. Full card details are processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor and never stored on JTrade Help servers.
- Usage data - searches, saved queries, dashboards viewed, reports downloaded, IP address, browser and device metadata, and referring pages.
- Content you submit - custom-report briefs, uploaded documents, support messages, and any information you provide when contacting us.
- Communications - records of emails, chat conversations, and calls with our team.
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and improve the JTrade Help platform and custom-report service.
- Authenticate accounts, process payments, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Respond to support requests and communicate about your account.
- Send service updates and, with your consent, marketing communications you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- Produce aggregated, de-identified statistics used to improve our data models and public reports.
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax, accounting, and lawful requests from authorities.
4. Legal basis & consent
Under PIPEDA, we rely on your knowledge and consent to collect, use, and disclose personal information, except where the law permits or requires otherwise. Consent may be express (for example, when you create an account or opt in to marketing emails) or implied by your use of the service for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice - doing so may limit our ability to provide the service.
Under CASL, we send commercial electronic messages only where we have your express or implied consent, and every message includes an unsubscribe mechanism honoured within 10 business days.
6. International transfers
JTrade Help is based in Ontario and our primary data region for Canadian customers is in Canada. Some of our subprocessors may process personal information in the United States or the European Union. When personal information is transferred outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of the destination jurisdiction and may be accessed by courts, law enforcement, or national-security authorities of that country. We rely on contractual safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where applicable, to protect information transferred internationally.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes it was collected for, or as required by law:
- Account information - for the life of the account, then deleted or de-identified within 90 days of account closure.
- Billing records - 7 years, as required by Canadian tax law.
- Support communications - up to 3 years after the last interaction.
- Backups - recycled on a rolling 35-day schedule.
8. Security
We use a combination of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information - including TLS 1.2+ in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access control, least-privilege access, activity logging, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a real risk of significant harm from a breach of security safeguards, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA's breach-notification requirements.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Withdraw consent to future collection, use, or disclosure.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
- Request a portable copy of information you have provided.
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (ipc.on.ca) if you believe your rights have been violated.

11. Children
JTrade Help is a business-to-business service not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
